Fascinated by finding beauty in eerie and macabre creatures, every piece by Eily O'Connell morphs into a new species through the process of combining natural forms and casting them into metal, adorning them with gemstones, enamel and other curios.
This ring is part of our Art Ring showcase at Tomfoolery.
Art Ring is a celebration of bold design and craftmanship; for this event we asked over 30 of our designers to create unique statement rings. The Art Ring event runs from the 8th November to the 31st of January. Treat yourself or a loved one to a one of a kind ring!
"This ring derives from the "sea monsters" collection that is sure to give you magical powers driven by the power of water when worn.
Beware of Ursula the sea witch as she will eat up any poor unfortunate souls. She may steal your soul if you look too closely into her purple eyes. She is extremely sassy."
This one-of-a-kind ring is sculpted to mimic the claws and teeth of sea creatures and cast in 18k yellow gold. It is set with a lilac coloured Amethyst that has been hand cut by an artisan stone cutter to achieve a unique sparkling effect.

Eily grew up in Donegal on the North West coast of Ireland hence sea themes are evident throughout her work. There are constant references to human manipulation of nature as Eily is concerned with our ecological impact and so tries to highlight important issues through pieces and collections.
