‘Crowned Lion’ Art Ring

Please note, this is a one-of-a-kind ring made for our ARTring 2021 exhibition. ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftmanship showcasing masterful creations from over 40 unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.

Harriet comes to jewellery design from an academic start at Cambridge University and an early career in set and costume design for spectacles such as the London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies.  In 2017 she started making jewels in fantasyland San Miguel de Allende, in the central highlands of Mexico where she lived for 4 years. Here, she studied with Maestro and reprobate Billy King before building her own workshop and showing at Caravana Americana and Zona Maco in Mexico City.

This experience of culture clash is Harriet’s playground.

Harriet says about her art ring:

“A celebratory mash-up of contemporary mass-produced motifs, re-imagined as an ancient relic from the future. The methods of its fabrication include both the oldest and newest processes, from hand forging to 3D printing, and are presented with equal reverence.”
