Birthstones: AQUAMARINE

TOMFOOLERY EXCLUSIVE ONE OF A KIND AQUAMARINE AND DIAMOND NECKLACE By Ruth Tomlinson Margoni

March’s birthstone, Aquamarine is found in all shades of blue ranging from pale to deep blue. Derived from the Latin word “Aqua”- meaning water, and “marina,” due to the colour of the gemstone being reminiscent of the blue of the sea.

Aquamarine has a rich history for its healing powers, used as a stone for emotional, spiritual and physical healing, due to its soothing and calming effects. In Ancient Greek mythology, it was referred as “the sailor’s gem,” due to the belief it would protect sailors whilst out at sea.

Aquamarines are found across the globe, but the key mining locations are Brazil, Nigeria, Madagascar and Pakistan.

Jewellery designer, Ruth Tomlinson, seeks out unconventional beauty and her ocean inspired designs perfectly encapsulates the ethereal aura of the Aquamarine.

For a more delicate option, we’re lusting over this 14k Yellow Gold Contrast Link Chain by Poppy Finch who set out on a journey to rethink fine jewellery essentials. The dainty chain allows the emerald cut Aquamarine to take centre stage.
