Catkin Happenstance Emerald Plume Art Ring

Please note, this is a one-of-a-kind ring made for our ARTring 2023 exhibition. ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftsmanship showcasing masterful creations from 30 unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.

The Catkin Happenstance Emerald Plume Art Ring by Alison Macleod is a stunning one-of-a-kind gemstone ring iconic of the designer’s signature style. Tourmaline, emerald, sapphire, and diamonds have serendipitously converged to form a vibrant and dynamic cluster, exuding a sense of harmony. The matte finish of the SMO (Single Mine Origin) gold adds an ancient, museum-worthy quality to the piece, making it truly exceptional and unique.

Alison says about her Art Ring:

“This ring, like so many of my designs, started its life in my gem box. A collection of treasures which have travelled from all over the world, each with its own hidden history. These stones, tourmaline, emerald, diamond and sapphire, were drawn together by happenstance, to create a cluster, alive with movement. The soft matte finish of the SMO (Single Mine Origin) gold is reminiscent of ancient artefacts displayed in museums and curiosity cabinets”.
