Oval Cabochon Opal Mosaic Art Ring

Please note, this is a one-of-a-kind ring made for our ARTring 2023 exhibition. ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftsmanship showcasing masterful creations from 30 unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.

The Oval Cabochon Opal Mosaic Art Ring by WWAKE is a one-of-a-kind gemstone ring that showcases the stunning beauty of opal in a mosaic-inspired design. Crafted in 14ct recycled yellow gold, this unique ring features an oval cabochon opal, known for its mesmerising play of colours, set against an artistic arrangement of smaller gemstone pieces, creating a captivating mosaic effect. It’s a truly distinctive and artistic piece of jewelry that allows you to carry the enchanting allure of opal in a striking and creative way.

Wing says about her Art Ring:

“Our Mosaic rings are an assemblage of stones of different shapes and colours – an interesting pattern that is asymmetrical but feels balanced. Inspired by terrazzo floors, where all these random little pieces of stone come together to make a playful, beautiful, smooth foundation for you to walk on. I like the metaphor, especially for a special ring in your life. The ring frames a two-tone black opal from Australia that I’ve had for 5 years. It’s from my friend and mentor, who is a miner in that area”.
